Handbuilt using textured black stoneware clay. I impressed a fern from the pottery garden around the pot and then decorated with a white glaze which reacts with the black clay to give this beautiful brown effect.

My work is about texture and I love to leave an area of the piece unglazed so you can feel the texture of the clay. These little vases are a really useful size - I made the first one because sometimes you just want to pick a few flowers from the garden and only need a small, but tall, vase.

As the outside of the vase is unglazed, I would recommend that you sit it on a coaster to protect surfaces.
